About Project: 

Project Title:
1) FOSTERING QUALITY EDUCATION THROUGH STRENGTHENING ADW SCHOOLS IN CUDDALORE DISTRIC, TAMIL NADU 

Goal: To develop 46 Adi Dravidar Welfare Schools as a model of quality Learning Hub to facilitate a holistic development of the children

Objective of the Project: 

To develop 46 ADW schools as model schools with enhanced all-round development opportunity for children by establishing smart classrooms and STEM labs 

Specific objectives:

• To establish learner friendly school infrastructure for children in 46 ADW schools of Cuddalore District, 50% of which are girls
• To build the capacity of teachers on subject specific and child centric pedagogy through effective usage of ICT
• To strengthen the existing school support structures (i.e. SMCs, BRCs/CRCs, /DIETs) and demonstrate learnings from the project for wider replication
• To improve physical and learning environment in schools and home

Purpose of assignment
Renovation/WASH infrastructure development/Hand wash Facilities in 46 ADW based on the Bill of Quantity (BOQ). 

The project aims to maintain, restore, and upgrade the physical infrastructure related to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in 46 selected ADW schools. The primary objective is to address the WASH needs of these schools, whether through minor repairs, renovation works, or the full establishment of necessary facilities. The goal is to create child-friendly environments that prioritize the safety and well-being of children aged 6-14 years.

About Project 

In Karnataka, Bal Raksha Bharat is Develop and demonstrate AWCs as model ECCE Centre to foster a joyful, nurturing and stimulating environment where children aged 3 to 6 years can develop a strong foundation for lifelong learning in Hoskote, Bangalore Rural in collaboration with Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD). Bal Raksha Bharat works with children in the age of Birth to 6 years and their parents, with an aim to improve school readiness and for strengthening care givers knowledge and practice in early development years of a child. The project implemented in Hoskote and Mahadevapura will ensure following objectives: 

• Minor repair and refurbishment of Anganwadi Centres to make child friendly
• Build a Child-Friendly Learning environment through BLES
• To build the capacity of Anganwadi workers on innovative pedagogy for providing preschool education for children aged 3-6 years.
• To promote the Lead Parent concept to undertake home-based preschool through Emergent Literacy and Math at home to build basic numeracy and literacy.
•  To build community-level Anganwadi Committees to support ICDS centers to ensure quality service.

Purpose of assignment
Renovation/infrastructure development/WaSH of the exiting 20 AWC’s in Hoskote and 15 in Mahadevapura .

1. Space based on the BOQ This 35 AWCs space needs renovation/infrastructure/WaSH in terms of its doors, safety gate, window grills/mesh, cement/white cement taping, cleaning of the premise, and compound wall/gate, building/renovating WaSH stations which are child friendly, flooring etc. The actual need of the renovation will be based upon the BOQ shared by an engineer. The BOQ is attached as in the excel sheet.
