RFP Description

TOR-Editing, Designing, and Finalizing the Positive Masculinity Communication Toolkit

1. Background

CECOEDECON works on issues related to gender, health, education, panchayats, agriculture and climate. CECOEDECON is the implementing partner of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Rajasthan for an integrated development programme towards addressing preventable maternal deaths, unmet need for family planning, gender-based violence and harmful practices such as child marriage and sex-selection.

Gender and social norms shape women’s and girls’ voices, rights and decision-making power within their families and societies and expose them to harmful practices such as child marriage. To address these challenges under the integrated development programa unified approach of engaging multiple stakeholders is being followed. Youth is considered as an important part of demographic dividend and therefore sensitizing them and changing their attitudes towards gender diversification, sensitizing them about gender equality and its norms is of utmost importance as they are exposed to information related to masculinity and gender norms through social media and other various media platforms. Therefore, it is imperative to talk about it to young people especially men and boys as these people are envisioned as upcoming change agents. Keeping this in view to build the capacity of young men & boys a communication toolkit has been developed. The toolkit comprises of a training module on positive masculinity, Posters, FAQs, Myth busters and other IEC materials. For its wider dissemination it is being considered important to review its language and design.

To ensure that the toolkit is comprehensive, user-friendly, and impactful, proposals are being invited from qualified professionals or agencies to undertake editing, refinement, and finalization of the draft version.
