1. POSITIONS VACANT: Senior Strategic Advisor - Manyata, International Not-for-Profit Organization, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

 

2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.

 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Senior Strategic Advisor for Manyata will provide high-level strategic and technical guidance to the Manyata 5.0 project. The consultant will serve as a key thought partner and advisor to the project leadership, offering expert insights on stakeholder engagement, program design, scale-up strategies, and technical strengthening—particularly for the engagement of FOGSI and its national and sub-national leadership. S/he shall be responsible for the following:

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

 

(1) Strategic and Technical Guidance:
(a) Advise on overall strategy and technical direction of the program in alignment with national maternal and newborn health priorities and FOGSI’s vision;

(b) Guide the adaptation and scaling of Manyata’s quality-of-care framework across diverse geographies and facility types;

(c) Review technical standards, innovation pilots, and key deliverables to ensure

alignment with evidence-based best practices;

 

(2) FOGSI Engagement and Sub-national Mobilization:
(a) Serve as a senior liaison to FOGSI leadership and support their continued engagement in the program at both national and sub-national levels;

(b) Facilitate active involvement of FOGSI chapters, societies, and champions in demand generation, facility engagement, and quality improvement activities;

(c) Provide strategic support to integrate Manyata into FOGSI’s broader professional agenda and annual priorities;

 

(3) Strengthening Strategic Partnerships:
(a) Support high-level relationship-building and coordination with national stakeholders such as NABH and NHA to enable Manyata integration with accreditation frameworks and ABDM standards;

(b) Guide engagement efforts with professional bodies, regulatory institutions, and quality assurance agencies to build legitimacy and scale;

(c) Represent the program in strategic meetings with external partners and donors, as required;

 

(4) Financial Sustainability and Blended Financing:
(a) Provide strategic guidance on the development and roll-out of blended financing models to support sustainable quality improvement;

(b) Advise on identifying and cultivating partnerships with CSR entities, investors, and philanthropic donors to diversify program funding;
(c) Offer insights to ensure alignment of financing strategies with the program’s goals for equity, scalability, and long-term sustainability;

 

(5) CSE Strengthening and Long-Term Viability:

(a) Support the development of sustainability frameworks for Centers for Skill Enhancement (CSEs), including business planning and value proposition refinement;

(b) Guide the establishment of performance-linked incentives and service packages to position CSEs as self-sustaining quality improvement hubs;

(c) Facilitate partnerships and cross-learning between CSEs and professional societies to expand outreach and impact;

 

(6) Program Governance and Knowledge Leadership:

a) Provide strategic inputs to the Central Governing Body and working groups to steer implementation, resolve roadblocks, and shape policy advocacy;

(b) Participate in key programmatic review meetings, offering recommendations for adaptive management and course correction;

(c) Contribute to the documentation of learnings, best practices, and impact stories to inform policy and scale-up dialogues.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience

(1) Applicant must have an MBBS and Master of Surgery;
(2) At least 30 years of working experience;

 

Skills and Competencies:
(1) Senior obstetrician-gynaecologist with at least 25 to 30 years of experience;
(2) Deep understanding of FOGSI’s structure, leadership dynamics, and networks;

(3) Demonstrated expertise in maternal and newborn health, quality of care, and health systems;

(4) Prior involvement in Manyata or similar quality improvement programs is highly desirable;

(5) Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with experience in stakeholder engagement at national and sub-national levels;

 

5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The overall consultancy fee budgeted for the assignment is INR 5,00,000/- (for the period of Four months Per Month INR 1,25,000/-).

 

6. LOCATION: Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

 

7. REFERENCE: SSA-L-INPO

 

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

 

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of four months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
