Over the years, JSI India has become a recognized leader for its innovative approaches in reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health (RMNCH), Immunization, urban health, Tuberculosis, nutrition, supply chain management, monitoring & evaluation, and health system strengthening. JSI is implementing projects funded by USAID, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, GAVI, and other leading funders.
Project Overview:
Under the GAVI Health System Strengthening, HSS-3 Agreement for India, JSIPL India has been awarded a project called Rapid Immunization Skill Enhancement (RISE). The objective of the RISE is to develop a constructive, interactive, continuous and an adaptable knowledge building system for program managers, medical officers, health workers and mobilisers regarding the guidelines and updates in the Universal Immunization Program.
JSIPL, under the gamut of its RISE Project, is engaging a third-party agency for facilitating & arranging the logistical requirements under the purview of conducting programmatic trainings at the designated geographies, extending technical support and providing services of project monitoring and control through allocable resources, in the four implementation States (Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh).
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the JSIPL – RISE Project State and National Team, including the State Program Manager (SPM) in each state, the Project Officers (POs) at the respective state headquarters or regional level will support the programmatic, technical, and operational implementation of the RISE project across the districts in their assigned states. S/he shall support the SPM in planning and implementing RISE interventions, organizing trainings, monitoring activities, managing data, collaborating with officials, ensuring system functionality, reporting progress, and assisting with immunization activities as required.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Support the SPM in planning and implementation of all activities related to implementation of interventions under RISE and its smooth integration in Routine Immunization Program (RI);
(2) In consultation with the SPM, Support state and districts in planning, organizing and conducting ToTs/orientations in district/block level for RISE, as needed;
(3) Coordinate with and maintain active communication and collaboration with district officials to ensure smooth implementation of RISE in all districts and blocks;
(4) Support the SPM in conducting concurrent monitoring activities, Baseline and Endline assessment;
(5) Actively participating in monitoring the course progress, data analysis & management and documentation as necessary;
(6) Support the JSIPL – national and state team, including SPM and Project Manager -Applied Technology for smooth functioning of Learning Management System;
(7) Regularly report progress, challenges and anticipated bottlenecks;
(8) Submit their monthly program activity report to JSIPL’s State Program Manager in standard format (pre-defined by Agency and JSI);
(9) Perform additional tasks including support to state on Routine immunization or other immunization activities, as assigned by supervisor on the request of the state government.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification:
(1) Applicants must have post graduate degree in Public Health, Social Work, Health Management/ Administration or equivalent;
(2) Applicants with BAMS, BHMS, BDS, or equivalent bachelor's degrees will also be considered.
Experience:
(1) Minimum three to five years of progressive work experience in the field of Public Health, especially under Immunization domain;
(2) Experience of working with the Govt. in collecting, evaluating, analyzing and interpreting routine immunization or other relevant program data (e.g.; RMNCH/FP/IDSP) will be considered an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Additional proficiency of computer application will be an added advantage;
(2) Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the State (in Districts and Blocks) as per project need – up to 60% of time;
(3) Skills and proven ability in design and writing reports and other dissemination materials would be an added advantage;
(4) Excellent interpersonal relations and ability to work in a team;
(5) Proficiency in spoken and written English and Hindi is essential, along with additional proficiency in the local language of the assigned state.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation for this position could be up to a maximum of Rs. 67,500/- per month depending on the required skills and experience. The compensation will be subject to withholding of taxes, as applicable.
6. NATURE OF ENGAGEMENT:
The selected candidate shall be appointed as Full time Consultant for fixed term assignment with Strategic Alliance Management Services Pvt. Ltd. (SAMS). (Note: the initial contract will be for a period of 12 months for Rajasthan location and 9 months for Arunachal Pradesh, and is further renewable based on satisfactory performance, program relevance and availability of resources.

8. LOCATION: Rajasthan (Jodhpur and Udaipur) and Arunachal Pradesh (Itanagar).
Note: Based on project requirements, the role will involve extensive travel across all districts in the respective states.
