Job Description

1. POSITIONS VACANT: Program Officer, International Not-for-Profit Organization (INPO), Pune, Maharashtra.

 

2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.

 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The PO will support the Sampoorna program based on
1) Preconception care which involves a spectrum of behavioural, biomedical, nutrition and social interventions that can be provided to women and couples before conception.
2) Data for action program intends to generate datasets across public & private sector to inform health policies.
3) Women cancer - The position will report to the Program Manager, Maharashtra.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Work under the guidance of the Program Manager - Sampoorna to support the streamlined rollout of the PCC activity in intervention geography;
(2) Support to achieve project deliverables and timelines as per desired quality and specifications;
(3) Provide technical and programmatic support and guidance to state/ district-level stakeholders involved in Sampoorna program;

(4) Liaise and coordinate with the team and government officials to provide troubleshooting support in the district and at the facility level;
(5) Coordinate with government and partner agencies to share and utilize data effectively;
(6) Support testing, implementation, and documentation of technology solutions;
(7) Take responsibility and accountability for ensuring issues are resolved or escalated to the proper resources to resolve in a timely manner with minimum disruption to the operational areas;
(8) Assess and supervise the utilization of technology platforms within healthcare delivery infrastructure in the state;
(9) Support to organize and conduct virtual as well as in-person trainings, workshops, and onsite coaching in consultation with the supervisor, this includes planning training schedules, identifying trainers, monitoring training, and post-training follow-up;
(10) Ensure timely collection, and collation of the program data and facilitate project activities including workshop planning, logistics planning and management, travel arrangements, and other activity support to ensure smooth implementation;
(11) Support supervisor in the development of technical content required for the program and travel when required to Districts in support of activity implementation and monitoring as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor;

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience

(1) Applicants must have Graduate level qualification in Medical, Nursing, AYUSH education in India. Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Public Health or Health Management will be preferred;

(2) Minimum of three to five years of experience of working with public health programs, especially in Reproductive and Child Health and managing program implementation is desirable. Specific experience in large programs related to quality of care/antenatal care/women cancer will be preferred;

 

Skills and Competencies:
(1) Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/strategies particularly the National Rural Health Mission would be advantageous;

(2) Fluency in Marathi language is essential;

(3) Experience and demonstrated ability in working with the governments Maternal, Child Health & NCD programs, counterparts and systems;

(4) Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Marathi;

(5) Technically proficient with skills required for the assigned task;

(6) Proficiency in writing technical documents such as training materials and reports;

(7) Ability to work within an international program team and communicate regularly with a variety of team members;

(8) Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders and other organizations;

(9) Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines;

(10) Ability to multi-task and work in a multicultural team;

(11) Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks;
(12) Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;

(13) Ability to travel extensively up to 50.60% of his/her time;

 

5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The overall consultancy fee budgeted for the assignment is INR 4,50,000/- (for the period of Five months Per Month INR 90,000/-).

 

6. LOCATION: Pune, Maharashtra

 

7. REFERENCE: PO-INPO

 

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

 

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of five months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
