1. POSITION VACANT: Manager - Geologist, Development Alternatives, New Delhi.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Program Director, the Manager – Geologist (MG) will lead the feasibility assessment of clay and other minerals for low-carbon cement applications. The role involves managing geological research, liaising with government and mining agencies, and supporting the development and commercialization of innovative solutions. The candidate will also focus on enhancing client relationships and ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) To undertake secondary literature survey on clay, limestone and other cement and waste based materials across India and other countries especially Africa, Asia and Pacific;
(2) To liaise with various geology, mining and related departments including IBM, GSI for data collection;
(3) Field visits to various mining sites for collection of samples of raw materials;
(4) Undertake mapping of raw materials, quantity estimation and logistics of mining;
(5) Coordination for arrangement of raw materials and management of testing;
(6) Undertake collaborative research with academic institutions leading to adoption of new and relevant technologies and development of new products;
(7) Demonstrate and support commercial deployment of knowledge and technologies and products with commercial companies;
(8) Ensure quality assurance of reports and their timely delivery with clients and internal satisfaction;
(9) Increasing the visibility of work being done and developing relationship with customers/clients to ensure repeated work;
(10) Writing proposals as per the requirement of funding agency(s).
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
Postgraduate degree in Geology or Applied Geology.
Experience:
(1) Minimum three to five years of experience in mines and mineral assessment.
(2) Experience in the cement industry is highly desirable.
Key Skills and Competencies:
(1) Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
(2) Strong report-writing and analytical skills;
(3) Demonstrated ability to undertake extensive field surveys, analyze results and adaptability to field-based challenges.;
(4) Willingness to travel extensively as part of the role.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The gross compensation budgeted can go up to a maximum of Rs. 7.68 lacs per annum, based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and skills.
