Job Description
1. POSITION VACANT: Director - Technology, Reputed Non-Profit Organization, New Delhi
2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:
Our client is a respected, well-endowed, non-profit organization committed to driving positive societal and economic transformations within India.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Country Director, the Director – Technology (DT) will be responsible for the planning, maintenance and operations of information systems, technical solutions and internal data security practices. S/he will be a key member of the India Leadership Team with responsibility for designing and deploying information technology initiatives serving to help the organization achieve its goals.
The DT will lead organizational cultural change enabling the adoption of effective technology solutions across programs and functions, build the internal capacity of end-users in the usage of software and databases, oversee the installation of software, licenses and asset management and integrate various information systems for purposes ranging from tele-communications to data management.
Key Job Responsibilities:
A. Strategic
(1) Understand the organization’s vision and needs for technology adaptations across programmatic and functional goals;
(2) Act as the technology visionary for the organization and provide all the necessary technology support to the leadership team and the state teams within the organization;
(3) Build the roadmap for the organization’s technology transformation. Collaborate with stakeholders for successful roadmap deployment;
(4) Align technology solutions to the organization’s Board’s vision and periodically report on developments;
(5) Responsible for the entire technology trends and developments in the organization;
(6) Develop the technical aspects of the organization’s strategy;
(7) Experiment and adopt new and relevant technology trends.
B. Programmatic & Functional:
(1) Analyze programmatic requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs and devise suitable technology-based solutions and resources;
(2) Design and deploy technology solutions to fuel programmatic plans. Ensure all technology solutions align with programmatic plans;
(3) Collaborate with Programs for the adoption of technology solutions. Undertake troubleshooting and make suitable improvements to existing frameworks/ tech;
(4) Collaborate with functions for the adoption of technology solutions and troubleshooting of functional processes. Drive successful adoption and continuous improvement in existing solutions including, but not limited to ERP, Smartsheets etc.
C. Operational:
(1) Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals;
(2) Manage all vendor contracts/ licenses /SOPs and other arrangements for the organization’s IT solutions and services, including but not limited to: Software, Hardware, Intellectual Property and more;
(3) Build and promote internal data security protocols and practices;
(4) Identify organizational needs and ensure ideal software solutions are developed in a timely manner to help increase operational efficiency;
(5) Build internal capacity and consensus for technology adoption;
(6) Develop and maintain frameworks of IT standards and strategies as well as IT policies that will empower teams to deliver effectively;
(7) Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software;
(8) Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency;
(9) Ensure all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards, internal and external compliance requirements;
(10) Develop and manage technology budgets and work plans.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification and Experience
(1) Postgraduate in Technology, Management, or similar disciplines;
(2) Minimum 10 years of relevant experience;
(3) Strong understanding of various aspects of technology needed for internal systems in the organization;
(4) In-depth knowledge of software applications, operating systems, database systems and web content management;
(5) Prior experience of implementing ERP solutions and exposure to the functioning of the non-profit sector would be a plus.

(1) Strong collaborative and interdepartmental inclusive skill sets;
(2) Proven experience in leading by example and inspiring teams for excellence;
(3) Ability to constantly educate oneself to be up to date with the latest technology advances;
(4) Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Sound representational and liaising abilities;
(5) Familiar with the current technology trends and ability to use them to build business strategies;
(6) Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
(7) Strong budgeting skills;
(8) Ability to travel occasionally.
5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
Gross compensation budgeted for the position is between INR 36 to 40 lacs per annum. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
6. DURATION OF CONTRACT: This is a full-time position, and the initial contract will be offered for a period of two years.
