3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Reporting to Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Education Initiatives will lead efforts to reform secondary education for marginalized student populations. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and scaling transformative programs, while establishing key partnerships with governments, funding bodies, and international organizations to drive significant, long-term improvements in educational outcomes.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to design and implement strategies for expanding educational initiatives across regions, ensuring alignment with national and regional policies

(2) Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including funding organizations, global partners, and consortiums, to secure long-term support.

(3) Lead the preparation of compelling funding proposals and reports, ensuring they align with the priorities of potential donors and partners.

(4) Guide the replication of successful programs in new districts and regions, maintaining high standards and measurable impact.

(5) Advocate for systemic educational reforms and secure critical funding through partnerships and policy alignment, focusing on the scalability of proven educational models.

(6) Lead a cross-functional team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement in educational initiatives.

(7) Oversee the operational and strategic alignment of partner organizations to ensure they contribute to organizational goals.

(8) Design and refine educational solutions to address challenges such as learning gaps, teacher capacity, and educational inequities.

(9) Collaborate with teams to develop scalable teaching models and professional development programs for educators, ensuring their adaptability across regions.

(10) Implement monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL) frameworks to assess program effectiveness, scalability, and impact.

(11) Use evaluation insights to continuously refine and enhance programs, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of educational systems.

(12) Represent the organization in national and international forums, advocating for educational innovation and driving the adoption of evidence-based practices.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualification and Experience:

(1) Candidates must have a Master's degree in Education, Management, International Development, or Social Sciences;

(2) 10-15 years in programme leadership roles, ideally with government-led initiatives, in the education sector. Applicants must have at least five years of senior management experience in leading large-scale education programmes and grants;

(3) Expertise in education management, teacher training, pedagogy, learning assessments, and improving teaching quality;
(4) In-depth understanding of state-led education schemes and innovations, with the ability to use this knowledge to shape the organization’s focus and long-term strategies.

 

Skills and Competencies:
(1) Demonstrable analytical thinking with a broad organizational perspective in generating solutions;

(2) Strong strategic planning skills with attention to detail and a commitment to high standards;

(3) Excellent project management, training, writing, public speaking, and data analysis skills;

(4) Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools;

(5) Collaborative, solution-oriented, and able to manage a diverse workload;

(6) Exceptional interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, with a proven track record in writing and presentations.

 

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

 

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
