Job Description
1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant - Radiology Technicians, International Not-for-Profit Organization (INPO), Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Consultant Radiology Technicians (CRTs) shall be focusing on AI-assisted mammography services. This role involves operating advanced mammography equipment integrated with artificial intelligence systems to support early detection of breast cancer. The technician will work closely with radiologists, the project team to ensure high-quality imaging and seamless integration of AI technologies in patient care.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Assist in performing high-quality mammograms using digital mammography equipment integrated with AI software under the guidance of the radiologist;
(2) Ensure optimal image quality while maintaining patient comfort and safety;
(3) Operate, calibrate, and maintain mammography and AI-integrated systems according to manufacturer guidelines and AI technical team;
(4) Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with technical support for maintenance as needed;
(5) Conduct and document routine quality checks while ensuring radiation safety standards are met;
(6) Greet and guide women into the screening area in proper sequence, ensuring organized patient flow.;
(7) Provide clear explanations of the mammography procedure and obtain informed consent;
(8) Ensure privacy by offering separate changing areas or curtained spaces and managing personal belongings securely;
(9) Complete the mammography procedure efficiently using techniques that enhance image quality and minimize discomfort;
(10) Ensure mammography is completed within a dedicated time frame per client and communicate report timelines clearly;
(11) Assist in coordinating ultrasound or biopsy procedures with relevant departments such as surgical oncology or pathology;
(12) Support collection and documentation of follow-up and treatment-related information as part of program records.
(13) Accurately record imaging data in hospital systems and project-specific platforms in compliance with data security protocols;
(14) Maintain daily logs and ensure timely sharing of screening data with the project team;
(15) Assist in organizing awareness and screening activities at the facility level as part of project implementation;
(16) Support patient navigation by guiding screen-positive women through follow-up diagnostics and treatment steps;
(17) Collaborate closely with clinicians and the project team to ensure seamless service delivery;
(18) Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor to achieve the objectives of the project;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must be diploma or degree in Radiologic Technology, Medical Imaging, or a related field from a recognized institution;
(2) Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mammography or radiologic imaging;
(3) Experience with AI-based diagnostic tools in imaging is preferred but not mandatory (training can be provided);
(4) Certification in Radiology or Mammography;
(5) Licensing by the relevant state or national medical board is mandatory;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Proficiency in operating digital mammography systems and imaging software;
(2) Effective communication skills in English and local language for interacting with departmental team members and women or attendants;
(3) Knowledge of radiation safety and quality assurance protocols;
(4) Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed;
5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The monthly consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 22,500/-

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of six months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
