Job Description
1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant, International Not-for-Profit Organization, New Delhi.
2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Public Health Consultant - Research and Scientific Writing. She/he will be responsible for the following tasks:
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Support the drafting and finalization of Scientific Manuscripts, including the activities below;
(a) Conduct comprehensive literature review/relevant program documents review for drafting the background/introduction and discussion sections of the identified manuscripts;
(b) Draft methodology sections referring to the approved research plans as well as in discussion with the study team;
(c) Conduct analysis on available program and evaluation data, as per analysis plan to draft the results section;
(d) Interpret & discuss the results, to contribute to the discussion section;
(e) Incorporate comments of the study and program teams on the drafts, to finalize for submission;
(2) Support in developing research protocols/ research determination forms, data collection tools and other related documents, in consultation with program and MER teams, for submission to JHSPH IRB;
(3) Support in drafting relevant sections (pertaining to analysis/interpretation/programmatic implications) for learning dissemination products like implementation briefs/learning briefs or policy briefs;
(4) Support supervisor on any other activities pertaining to Program Evaluation or the Program Closure report, as required;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience
(1) Applicant must have Bachelor’s degree in health with mandatory Masters’s in public health /community medicine;
(2) At least 3-5 years of relevant professional experience of working with an international /national public health organization is desirable;
(3) Existing publications in international peer reviewed journals, presentations at international public health related conferences of repute;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Good analytical and scientific writing skills;
(2) Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data using standard softwares like SPSS /STATA /R / Atlas ti;
(3) Excellent oral and written communication skills;
(4) Comfortable with working in a multicultural team;
(5) Proficiency in writing and editing reports and documents;
(6) Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders and other organizations;
(7) Excellent organizational skills;
5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The overall consultancy fee budgeted for the assignment, for a period of five months, is INR 425,000/-.

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of five months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
