Job Description
1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant - Data Entry Operator, International Not-for-Profit Organization (INPO), Keonjhar, Odisha
2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Data Entry Operator at Keonjhar DPMU will manage and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of health data from all designated facilities. Key responsibilities include data verification, coordination with facility staff, preparation of reports and dashboards, maintaining secure online data systems, and conducting regular quality checks. The role also supports review meetings, staff training on data norms, and compliance with state health mission requirements, while upholding data confidentiality and facilitating smooth district-level reporting.
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Verify and validate data received from health facilities for accuracy, completeness, and consistency;
(2) Ensure timely collection of data from all designated health facilities under the district;
(3) Coordinate with facility-level staff to follow up on incomplete or missing data submissions;
(4) Support preparation of regular reports, dashboards, and performance summaries;
(5) Work closely with DPMU officials to support data-driven decision-making processes;
(6) Collaborate with internal teams of the organization to ensure timely sharing of field updates and KPI-related data;
(7) Assist in setting up and maintaining an online data storage mechanism for secure and centralized access to district-level data;
(8) Participate in designing and refining data collection formats/tools as per district level health reporting requirements;
(9) Conduct routine data quality checks (DQA) and flag anomalies or inconsistencies to relevant stakeholders;
(10) Support training/orientation of facility staff on data entry norms and reporting schedules where needed;
(11) Develop and maintain trackers for monitoring the timeliness and completeness of data Submissions;
(12) Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all health-related data and comply with data protection policies;
(13) Support in organizing review meetings with block/facility-level staff on data performance;
(14) Generate alerts/reminders for facilities lagging in reporting through calls /messages /emails;
(15) Ensure alignment of data reporting with state health mission requirements;
(16) Assist with printing and scanning of documents required for reporting, record-keeping, or sharing with stakeholders;
(17) Support in preparing PowerPoint presentations for District review meetings;
(18) Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support smooth office operations and achievement of project goals;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must be Graduate in any discipline (preferably in statistics, computer science, public health, or related fields);
(2) Minimum of 1 year of experience in data handling or MIS-related roles;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of Google Workspace is desirable;
(2) Good interpersonal and coordination skills;
(3) Ability to handle field-level follow-ups and documentation independently;
(4) Fluency in local language/dialect is essential;
(5) Basic knowledge of health indicators and public health systems is an added advantage;
5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The monthly consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 25,000/-

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of six months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
