Job Description

1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant - Block Supervisor, International Not-for-Profit Organization, Jaipur Rajasthan.

 

2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Consultant - Block Supervisor (BS) based at Jaipur in the state. The position will provide field-level support to the maternal health project on implementation of evidence based Antenatal Care (ANC) in public health facilities and outreach. The position requires working closely with health service providers including ANMs, Staff Nurses, MOs and other clinical and program staff to support positive client health outcomes. The position will report to the Senior Program Officer (SPO) in the respective district. S/he will be responsible for below metioned;

Key Job Responsibilities:

(1) Work under the guidance of the state project team to support the rollout of the project and its day-to-day operations in Jaipur, concerned facilities (Urban Primary Health Centres) and at the level of community health platforms (Janta Clinics);

(2) Support in the rollout of digital point-of-care diagnostic devices (IOT Devices Kit) across the selected facilities in Jaipur;

(3) Assist in achieving project deliverables within timelines;

(4) Support the implementation of GANC via strengthening of Mahila Aarogya Samitis (MAS) at the MCHN session sites and Ayushman Aarogya Mandir (Health & Wellness center)/ Janta Clinics in coordination with ANMs and ASHAs;

(5) Ensure adequate recording and reporting of ANC service delivery in physical and digital formats at both provider and facility levels;

(6) Support in project-related training, on-site handholding and monitoring of MCHN session sites/outreach camps;

(7) Capturing success stories relevant to the project;

(8) Support the district team in strengthening the digital component of the project;

(9) Support testing, implementation, and documentation of technology solutions;

(10) Liaise and coordinate with the team to provide troubleshooting support at the facility level;

(11) Support in organizing program review meetings;

(12) Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor;

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience

(1) Applicants must have a graduate level qualification in nursing and social work will be preferred;

(2) Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience of working with public health programs will be preferred;

(3) Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders, and relevant government policies/strategies in context of especially in Jaipur Urban area;

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Good verbal communications skills;

(2) Fluency in local language/dialect is essential;

(3) Knowledge of local community, health system community platforms and challenges;

(4) Willingness, flexibility and ability to work on a wide range of tasks;

(5) Experience of working with government officials in Rajasthan is desirable;

(6) Hire own bike/mobility support and willingness & ability to travel locally for project activities. Travel cost will be included in the total remuneration offered.

 

5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The monthly consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 30,000/-, including conveyance/ fuel.

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

 

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially the contract will be offered for a period of six months and shall be extended up to one year or more based on the Consultant’s performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
