Job Description

1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant-Born Healthy Project, International Not-for-Profit Organization (INPO), Chandigarh, Punjab.

 

2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:

 

Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.

 

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Consultant CIFF- Born Healthy will support the Born Healthy program based on demonstrating a successful model of evidence-based Antenatal Care (ANC) by designing, conducting and monitoring activities that provide quality and timely programmatic support to health providers, health facilities and other relevant stakeholders. The position will report to the State Program Officer (SPO) in her/his respective state and will be responsible for the following tasks:

 

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Support in Anemia Mukt Bharat with focus on Anemia in Pregnant ladies and Lactating mothers;

(2) Training, Roll out and implementation of FCM;

(3) Technical support in Maternal Nutrition;

(4) Support in implementation, and documentation of technology solutions;

(5) Assess and supervise the utilization of technology platforms within healthcare delivery infrastructure in the state;

(6) Technical Support in the development of technical content required for the program.

 

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

 

Qualifications and Experience
(1) Applicants must have Graduate level qualification in Medical, Nursing, AYUSH , BSC in Lab technology education in India. Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Public Health or Health Management will be preferred;

(2) Minimum 2-5 years of experience of working with public health programs especially in Reproductive and Child Health and managing program implementation is desirable. Specific experience in large programs related to quality of care/antenatal care/maternal & newborn health will be preferred;

 

Skills and Competencies:

(1) Familiarity with the Indian health system, key stakeholders and relevant government policies/strategies particularly National Rural Health Mission would be advantageous;

(2) Experience and demonstrated ability in working with government’s Maternal and Child Health programs, counterparts and systems;

(3) Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi;

(4) Technically proficient with skills required for the assigned task;

(5) Proficiency in writing technical documents such as training materials and reports;

(6) Ability to work within an international program team and communicate regularly with a variety of team members;

(7) Ability to develop productive working relationships with other agencies, stakeholders and other organizations;

(8) Ability to handle a variety of assignments under pressure of deadlines;

(9) Ability to multitask and work in a multi-cultural team;

(10) Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks;

(11) Microsoft Office computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;

(12) Ability to travel extensively up to 50–60% of his/her time;

 

5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The monthly consultancy fee budgeted for the position is INR 90,000/-, CTC for 6 months INR 540,000/-.

 

6. LOCATION: Chandigarh, Punjab

8. NATURE OF CONTRACT:

 

The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of six months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
