Job Description
1. POSITIONS VACANT: Consultant Senior Program Coordinator, International Not-for-Profit Organization (INPO), Mandi & Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
2. ORGANISATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Our client is a respected international not-for-profit, that works in public health, to improve the health of disadvantaged communities, across the globe.
3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Two Senior Program Coordinator (Divisional Level) one based in the Mandi division (Districts to be supported are Mandi, Bilaspur, Kullu, Lahual & Spiti) & Kangra division (Districts to be supported are Kangra, Hamirpur, Chamba, Una) of Himachal Pradesh. The Senior Program Coordinator will provide divisional-level leadership for planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities. The position will ensure coordination between district teams, relevant stakeholders, and technical partners to achieve project deliverables. The Senior Program Coordinator will report to the Manager-TB based at the National Level. S/he will be responsible for the following work;
Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Work closely with the State & National TB Team and Jhpiego to prepare milestone reports, deliverables, and donor reports for the Cough Syrup Surveillance project, along with other tasks assigned by the supervisor;
(2) Collaborate with the District TB Officer, and Senior Program Officer, TIFA Jhpiego, in Himachal Pradesh for project roll-out;
(3) Provide technical and operational support to districts for program implementation as per project plans and timelines;
(4) Organize training and capacity-building sessions (in person/one-on-one/virtual) for healthcare providers and frontline workers;
(5) Provide handholding and supervision support to NTEP block teams;
(6) Coordinate with district, and block officials to engage Rural Health Providers, AYUSH providers (public & private), and Chemists in project activities;
(7) Support DTOs in establishing a continuum of care for people with TB accessing services from rural providers, AYUSH providers, and Chemists;
(8) Engage individuals purchasing cough syrup to enhance IVRS response rates;
(9) Facilitate provider engagement for uptake of the TB Mukt Himachal application;
(10) Engage with CHOs and NTEP staff in completing Health Seeking Behavior (HSB) forms for people with TB;
(11) Support data analysis in coordination with the supervisor;
(12) Work with the state team to develop and maintain a comprehensive project activity database;
(13) Collaborate with the state and MERL teams at ICO to verify data accuracy;
(14) Document learnings, case studies, and success stories with the supervisor;
(15) Maintain a repository of all project-supported resource materials;
(16) Ensure systematic knowledge management of program documents, including photos, reports, presentations, government letters, IEC materials, and event documentation;
(17) Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor to achieve organizational goals;
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications and Experience:
(1) Applicants must be Bachelors in social work with postgraduate diploma/ degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related fields;
(2) At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience which includes a minimum of two year of experience in the National TB Elimination Program at district or divisional level;
Skills and Competencies:
(1) Data Base Management including designing a data entry program, data cleaning, and data analysis, according to the indicators required in the frame of Projects;
(2) Familiarity with the health system of respective states, key stakeholders, and relevant government policies/ strategies related to the NTEP program;
(3) Experience in working with the development sector/ NGOs would be preferred;
(4) Experience in working with Himachal Pradesh Government Health projects would be preferred;
(5) Proven experience working with the government’s NTEP programs, counterparts, and systems;
(6) Demonstrated experience in conducting training sessions for health workers on TB services and the Ni-kshay Portal;
(7) Strong liaison and coordination skills with state and district government officials;
(8) Ability to effectively engage frontline workers, medical officers, district and block officials, and other stakeholders to achieve program goals;
(9) Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi;
(10) Strong multitasking, organizational, team player and problem-solving skills;
(11) Willingness and ability to travel extensively (70–80% of the time);
(12) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
5. CONSULTANCY FEE: The monthly consultancy fee budgeted for the positions is INR 50,000/-.

9. NATURE OF CONTRACT:
The selected candidate shall be engaged as a Consultant on the rolls of SAMS, a third-party payrolling agency, for a full-time consultancy engagement initially offered for a period of four months. The contract is extendable based on performance and project requirements. It is explicitly clarified that this consultancy engagement does not constitute a promise or guarantee of future employment, with SAMS, or our client, or any other organization associated with the project.
